  1. Do I need a wireless network in my home to use the Schlage LiNK wireless camera?
    Yes, you will need a wireless router in your home in order to use the Schlage LiNK wireless camera.

  2. What kind of cell phone do I need to have?
    Nearly any modern cell phone can receive text alerts from Schlage LiNK. But to take full advantage of the system's features, you'll need a data enabled phone platform like Android, BlackBerry, or iPhone. To verify your phone is compatible with the Schlage LiNK System, please check with your carrier.

  3. Do I have to pay to download the software to my phone?
    It depends. Some service providers charge a fee, while others don't. To know for sure, you'll need to check with your carrier.

  4. Does the system require a monthly subscription fee?
    A minimal monthly subscription fee is required. There are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees. Receive a trial period when you activate a new account.

  5. Is it secure?
    Like all Schlage products, Schlage LiNK is very secure. The online portal features security measures similar to those used in online banking systems. The camera creates a secure connection directly to the video server so that video is not accessible outside of that connection.

  6. Is the camera live?
    Yes. The Internet-capabale camera attached to the network will be able to show live video via the mobile device and/or computer. The frame rate will be approximately 8-10 frames per second.

  7. Is the camera closed circuit?
    No. The camera can be accessed from the Internet via your Schlage LiNK account's web interface or on your phone, but access to the camera requires permission.

  8. Can the camera be mounted outside?
    No. The camera is not rated for outdoor use.

  9. Can I install more than 1 camera to my Schlage LiNK account?
    Yes. You can install multiple cameras on a single Schlage LiNK account.

  10. Can I use cameras from other manufacturers?
    Not at this time. The Schlage LiNK camera is designed to provide a secure video connection, along with easy plug-and-play installation, not currently available with other cameras.

  11. What does "wireless" mean?
    The Schlage LiNK wireless camera does not require a wired Internet connection. It communicates wirelessly with your existing wireless router. The camera does require power and comes with a power adapter.
